$14 per half hour

community

$27/hr*

Our community rate covers the following uses:

  • rehearsals (up to 9 people only)

  • private teaching (teacher plus up to two students max.)

  • online classes or workshops (teacher only only)

  • audio recordings (please note this space is not a soundproof studio)

  • auditions

  • individual practice

event

$44/hr*

Our event rate covers the following uses:

  • any rental with 10 or more people

  • parties

  • in-person classes/workshops (teacher + 3 or more people)

  • showcases & performances

  • weddings or receptions

  • business meetings

  • readings/screenings

  • pop-up shops and art exhibitions

Security Deposit - $100

All reservations include a $100 security deposit at the time of booking to ensure that the space is returned clean, organized, and on time. If any of the terms and conditions are violated, extra time is used, issues with other bookings are created, or the space is not returned in clean or organized as instructed a portion or all of the security deposit may be forfeited. Security deposits are returned within 5-7 business days after the completion of your reservation.

HASP Fee - $3 - 5

Due to covid-19 we include additional disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer plus focus more of our cleaning on disinfecting the space after each use as part of our HASP practices. HASP Fees are $3 per rental for less than 10 people and $5 per rental for 10+ people.

optional add-ons

Food and Beverage - $30

Any event that would like to serve food and/or non-alcoholic beverages. This covers additional trash removal, however guests are still required to clean and reset room.

Food w/ Beer & Wine - $100

This is for any event that wants to serve food with beer & wine (no spirits). Clients choosing this option must also sign a liquor liability waiver with a credit authorization for possible damages.


Rental Policies

booking policy

All bookings must be paid for in advance in order to be confirmed and all renters must accept the Rental Agreement as linked to in the invoice provided prior to confirmation.

Minimum rentals: The Green Room is rented in 30 minute increments. Rentals start on the hour and on the half-hour only (e.g. 3:00 or 3:30, NOT 3:15 or 3:45).

Any gaps of 30 minutes or less within a client's rental period will count towards the total rental time. (For example, a reservation of 3:00-4:00 pm and 4:30-5:30 pm on the same day will be billed as a 3:00-5:30 pm rental.)

All events (parties, shows, etc) will have a Reset/Cleaning Deposit which will be returned in 5-7 business days after your event. The Green Room is a DIY space and this is held to ensure that the room is reset as needed for other reservations after yours. If you go over your reservation time or leave the space in a such a manner that creates added work for those after you a partial refund or no refund may result depending on the occurrence.

cancelation policy

Clients may cancel a booking no later than one week prior to the date and time of said booking and receive a full refund within 30 business days. Clients will receive a 50% refund on bookings cancelled by the client no later than 48 hours prior to said booking. Within 48 hours no refund will be provided.

Any event that is cancelled due to severe weather may be rescheduled at no additional charge.  Severe weather is defined as when the MBTA closes operations or a state of emergency is declared by the City of Somerville.

Exceptional circumstances resulting in a cancellation may be taken into account at the discretion of The Green Room. The Green Room reserves the right to cancel bookings for a full refund and will make every effort to give reasonable notice.

food & beverage policy

Food and beverage is permitted at our venue with some restrictions. There is absolutely no cooking, open flame, or other food assembly on-premise. Pre-made foods are permitted including catered food so long as it’s not assembled onsite. We don’t have a kitchenette or prep area available, but we do offer tables without tablecloths for food stations. Any snack items are permitted without additional fees, but foods such as pizza, sandwich platters, cheese and cracker platters, or other catered or delivery food items come with an additional $25 for the additional trash removal and food waste.

Personal use of alcohol is permitted in the space, but any alcohol that is distributed to attendees of your event requires event insurance and listing Ministry of Theater LLC as additionally insured. You can obtain event insurance here. Any hard alcohol requests or service that involves the professional services of a caterer and/or bartender must obtain a permit from the City of Somerville in addition to providing a TIPS certified bartender.
